Is offline the new luxury?
With most of our jobs glueing us to our desks, it’s quite fun once in a while to take a break from the internet and do something for yourself.
Do you remember a time of the day when you weren't at the screen? I am staring at the screen, writing this and probably you are reading it on a screen. Staying offline for even 10 minutes is probably a nightmare for a lot of us. Can you?
I recently tried to be more mindful of my screen time and it surprisingly was different. At first, I did not know what to do or where to look or even where to put my hands. But in a couple of days, I started journaling, reading books and even randomly singing entire songs without music. It was really fun and felt like I was floating in gas care-free.
With most of our jobs glueing us to our desks, it’s quite fun once in a while to take a break from the internet and do something for yourself. Because most of us want this so bad but can’t have it makes it a luxury. And I’m kinda bragging when I say I am luxurious.
So in conclusion, try to go offline for at least an hour once every few days. I’m not telling you to leave the grid to buy a boat and become a pirate. Just turn off all the screens and do something that you usually wouldn't do.
I’m not a psychiatrist, but going offline once in a while has made me a better version of myself. Hope you’ll get there too!
Yours,
Shasha
